Visited Roquette Cafe at Ipoh old town on a Sunday. "Roquette" is actually French for "rocket". The shop was just opened on 16th September 2013. Thanks to the help of the media, the business of the cafe is pretty good and it was full house that afternoon. We wait for about 10 minutes to get ourselves a table. While we were waiting, we were served with skyjuice and a few cookies for free. How nice of them! =)
The cafe is an extraordinary one, not just being a cafe, but also as a political service centre, bringing the community together to share and interact over a cup of coffee. The basic concept is to be a service centre, but they want to make it lively and attractive for the whole community. The shop is divided into two parts: Front part being the cafe; and the back portion being the service centre. YB Nga Kor Meng (DAP's Kepayang Assemblyman) will be at the centre every Tuesday to meet his constituents.
I like how the sugar is served, I just dip the satay stick into my coffee and it will slowly melt.
Mango pound cake & Macaron
(thumbs up for the mango pound cake)
All day breakfast Roquette set - Scramble eggs, panini toast with mushroom and veggie & chicken sausage with banana slices
That's what we ordered. A total of RM48
(a little priceyyy for me)
Yes, they are selling books. The racks are full with books and magazines, as well as mugs printed with YB Nga's photo.
Visited Vanity HausBoutique Cafe & Spa Salon on a Friday night with Winnie, considered as a birthday celebration for her also la hehe. This cafe is quite a hidden one, because it is a home-based cafe, not by the shop lots. I spent some time looking for the cafe too because I'm not familiar with the area there.

Basically they don't have a menu and have limited choices of food. What I can remember was Spaghetti, Chicken Chop & Mee Jawa. Therefore, both of us ordered the spaghetti and chicken chop. However, the chef told us the sauce for the chicken chop was finished and asked us whether can change to Salmon. Since we don't have other choices so we just agreed with it.
Salmon with broccoli sauce- RM23 (I hope I label the price correctly, coz I didn't keep the receipt :/)
We share share the spaghetti and salmon. I like the mash potato servings and I like how broccoli sauce matches with Salmon. The spaghetti is very nice too. To my surprise, the portion of the food are quite big. I know that Red velvet cake is a must-try there but both of us were quite full already. However, they are so generous to treat us the cake by giving us half of the servings so that we can have a try on it! How niceeee =) Maybe we are pretty? Haha just joking :P
Our drinks are strawberry juice and kiwi juice (Juices are RM8 each if I didn't remember wrongly). The drinks are very nice too because they were freshly made.
The ambience is nice, food are delicious and I had a nice catch up session with Winnie.
